Found a hairline crack weeping pink coolant from the expansion tank on my 986. OEM plastic is back in stock but I keep hearing they go brittle again. Worth the alloy upgrade, or stick OEM and just keep an eye on it?
996 C2, 96k miles, slight RMS weep that's been stable for two years. No drip on the floor, just a damp bellhousing. Is it worth pulling the gearbox for, or am I chasing a non-issue? IMS was done at 60k with a single-row retrofit.
Did a track day at Donington and the pedal got progressively longer through the session. Fluid is about 18 months old. Going to do a full flush — what's everyone's preferred bleed order on the 986/996, and are the Motul RBF660 crowd happy with it for mixed street/track?
Passenger window dropped and won't go back up — classic regulator cable snap. Got the door card off but the cable setup looks fiddly. Anyone done this on the driveway? How long did it take and any gotchas with the airbag/door module?
Looking at a 996 with 92k miles, full history. I know cylinder scoring on 4/5/6 is the big M96 worry. What are the earliest signs — oil consumption rate, idle behaviour, borescope findings — before it becomes a rebuild? Trying to make a sensible call before purchase.
My 2001 Boxster S is on 78k miles with no recorded IMS work. I'm planning a preventative retrofit over the winter. Curious what kits people went with — LN Engineering ceramic hybrid vs the double-row retrofit — and whether you did clutch + RMS at the same time. Labour quotes I've had range wildly.
